Kimberly Schlapman is more than just a singer -- she's an accomplished southern cook, too. This year, the Little Big Town star kicked off her very own cooking show, 'Kimberly's Simply Southern,' on GAC. And now she's coming back for a second season of down-home southern recipes.

New episodes of 'Kimberly's Simply Southern' will start airing in the spring of 2013.

During the first season of the show, Schlapman used her crazy traveling schedule with Little Big Town as a means to research culinary customs and food culture all over the country. When she finally made back to her home in Nashville, she gathered with family and a few famous friends to create southern meals. The talented singer would combine what she learned on the road with traditional southern cooking methods in order to make brand new authentic recipes.

Schlapman is already looking forward to getting back out on the road and filming a second season of her cooking show. “I’m so thrilled that I’ve been given a second season of 'Kimberly’s Simply Southern,'" she said, according to GAC. “This cooking show is a childhood dream of mine and I have to keep pinching myself to make sure it really has come true!  I look forward to many more adventures on the road and to more fun in the kitchen with my family and friends. Thanks for watching!"

Also, it sounds like GAC is just as excited to have the Little Big Town singer come back for another season. “Kimberly is as natural in front of the camera as she is in the kitchen,” said GAC SVP/GM Sarah Trahern. “The audience loves her and we do, too."

Tune in to GAC this spring to watch Schlapman in action and add some new recipes to your recipe box.
