Before you freak out know that Lake Elmo has only be drained of half its water so there will still be plenty of water for the fish and fresh water mussels to survive. Montana's Fish, Wildlife and Parks say they have partially drained the lake to complete repair work. According to Bob Gibson, the communication and education program manager "A Billings Heights man ran his car through the fence and through the outlet structure and into the lake. And that broke the actual concrete and steel structure that the Billings Bench Water Association uses to take water out of the lake and into its canal".

Once the repair work is done and they get the lake back to normal water levels the FWP will be adding thousands of fish to the lake just like they do every year. Officials say the water levels should be back to normal by this weekend.
