If there are two things we know about contestants that go deep into their seasons of 'American Idol,' it's that they tend to enjoy incredibly successful careers even if they lose the top prize, and they always, always return to the show to perform.

That’s just what Season 10 runner up Lauren Alaina -- who lost to Scott McCreery in the series' country showdown in 2011 -- is doing on Thursday, May 9.

The adorable blonde singer will perform her new single 'Barefoot and Buckwild' for the first time ever during the show's results episode, which airs Thursday on Fox at 8PM ET.

Pop singer Alicia Keys will also be on hand to perform that night.

The Top 3 of Season 12 is all-female and will be reduced to the final two next week, so it's fitting that a pair of successful female singers from different genres will be on hand to perform. It's all about girl power on next week's results episode, with a little dose of country thanks to Lauren Alaina.

Maybe the Georgia Peach can pass a little wisdom on to contestant Kree Harrison, who is the sole country-leaning singer left in the competition. Alaina may have been bested by her buddy McCreery, but she knows a thing or two (or 10) about being in the thick of the final battles on 'Idol.'
