New music is on the way from Loretta Lynn this summer — the country legend has revealed that a new album, Wouldn't It Be Great, will be released on Aug. 18.

Wouldn't It Be Great promises to be "one of the most deeply personal albums of her career," a press release states. The record includes new compositions alongside reinterpretations of her previous classics, recorded at the Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tenn., with producers Patsy Lynn Russell and John Carter Cash. All of the songs featured on the album were written or co-written by Lynn.

"I think you try to do better with every record you put out," the country music icon says. "It's just everyday living — and everybody wants to know, 'Well, what is it about your songs that people like?' I think you've got to tell your stories. I just think it hits everybody, you know, the songs.”

New songs featured on the album include "Ruby's Stool," "Ain't No Time to Go" and "I'm Dying for Someone to Live For." New renditions of past compositions "God Makes No Mistakes," from Lynn's 2004 Grammy-winning Jack White-produced Van Lear Rose, her iconic hit "Coal Miner's Daughter" and "Don't Come Home A' Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)," her first of 16 career No. 1 country singles, will also be featured.

Lynn will turn 85 on Friday (April 14) and celebrate the big day with two sold-out birthday shows at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on April 14 and April 15.
