People who text and talk on their phones while driving has been a hot topic for the Flakes this week.  Today, Mark and Paul got a phone call from a listener complaining that police officers shouldn't be allowed to talk on their cellphones while driving.

Paul shut him down, saying that law enforcement and emergency personnel have every right to talk and text while driving because the information they're obtaining could save lives.  Paul then pointed out that the caller wouldn't be complaining if he was on the receiving end of those services.

Mark then noted that people who complain about the police are only bitter because they got busted.  He also admitted that every time he's been pulled over, he was guilty.  By and large, most police officers really do protect and serve the public and, often times, it's a thankless job.

The conversation ended with a story about a cop who called into the show a few months back.  He told Mark and Paul about a driver he had pulled over who said, "I pay your salary".  The policeman responded by saying, "I did the math, your contribution to my salary was 44 cents.  You can keep it."
