MontanaFair is about so much more than thrill rides, concerts and midway concessions.

For those involved in 4H and FAA, it has been described as the Super Bowl for 4H, FFA and agriculture.

The MontanaFair Junior Livestock Sale is the culmination of the year for many young people involved in the business of raising cattle, hogs, goats, rabbits, turkeys, and sheep for market. On Saturday Aug. 15, the hours of feeding, raising, and caring for these animals comes to a close at the sale. It's also one of the most difficult days as young people part ways with their animals

Last year more than 200 animals were sold at the sale which actively teaches about production agriculture, according to Ray Massie, marketing and sales director for MontanaFair.

Western Ag Reporter is one of the sponsors of the yearly sale. Buyers at the sale pay top dollar to reward the work of the young people ages 9 to 19 for their efforts.

You can register to be a buyer the day of the event. More information or to place a proxy bid call Yellowstone County Extension Office at 406-256-2828
