There's a lot of Bears, Bulldogs, Tigers, Wildcats and Broncos in Montana high schools, but did you know we also have Bats and Penguins?

Here's a list of the 5 best high school mascots in the Treasure State:

1.  The Chinook Sugarbeeters - Not only are the Sugarbeeters the weirdest mascot in Montana, they were even named the best mascot in the entire country by USA Today in 2013.  Chinook High is also the alma matter of former professional football player Mike Telleman, who went on to play for the University of Montana and spent 11 years in the NFL.

2.  The Belfry Bats - With only 14 students, this small town school near the Wyoming border might actually have more bats than people.

3.  The Libby Loggers - Libby High has two claims to fame.  It's got one of the best mascots in the state and, arguably, the most historic school building in Montana. It was even added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

4.  The Whitewater Penguins - There are 13 Penguins living in Montana.  And they each attend school in this remote unincorporated community in near the Canadian border in northern Montana.

5.  The Laurel Locomotives - Named after the largest railyard between Minnesota and Washington, the Locomotives have been chugging down the tracks since 1908.  Laurel is also home to noted distance runner Patrick Casey, who ran the first sub 4 minute mile in Montana history.
