My Parent's or Your's?

The holiday's are in full force. Now begins the trips to see family and welcoming them to your home. The first thing that comes to mid for me is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. If it can go wrong, it will.

For my family and I it's pretty simple. Neither my wife or I really have family to see when it comes to Thanksgiving and Christmas. My father passed away just over 3 years ago and my mom spends all of her time with my sister whom doesn't talk to me anymore. My wife is an only child and her parents do there own thing which requires the least amount of kids possible.

For us, trip plans are really non-existent. We have our kids and that is all that really matters..

But what about you? How do you handle making plans for the holidays when it consists of two sets of families? Do they live close enough to where you can visit both in one day or do you have to flip flop Thanksgiving and Christmas every year?
