Free BBQ, Live Music, face painting and balloon animals for the kids…sounds like the Montana Fair, right? Nope. It’s National Night Out at the west end Target store tonight. This is the third year for the event in Billings. Tonight’s free fun will start at 5:30.  Target is working with the Billings Clinic, Yellowstone County Safe Kids, Billings Police Department, and American Medical Response. There will also be booths set up in the parking lot with information from several area vendors. The goal of the event is to strengthen the bonds of the community and law enforcement in the area. They also want to promote safety and security in the home.

National Night Out started with annual events in 1984. It is held the first Tuesday in August around the United States. Locally, Target stores of Billings have donated $500 to the Billings Police Department and over 700 volunteer hours to local organizations.
