According to a new report from Yahoo and Business Insider, Montana City is the richest town in the Treasure State.  Based on their nationwide American Community Survey, which was compiled using statistics from the Census Bureau, the small suburb of Helena has the highest median household income in Montana, at just over $98,000 per year.

The article doesn't list the median incomes of Montana's largest cities, it does compar the most affluent locations in each of the 50 states. Chevy Chase, Maryland, and Hidden Hills, California, are the richest towns in the country, which each boasting an average annual household income of $250,000.

Around the region, Rafter J Ranch ranks as the richest place in Wyoming.  Located just outside of Jackson, household there have a median income of over $117,000. The most affluent towns in North and South Dakota are both located on the eastern borders of those states. Horace, North Dakota, near the Minnesota state line, has an average household income of nearly $89,000.  Meanwhile, residents of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, which is near the Nebraska-Iowa border have a median income of over $104,000.
