President Obama Should Attend Antonin Scalia’s Funeral [Opinion]

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia's funeral is Saturday; President Obama will not be attending.

He has indicated that he and the first lady will, instead, pay their respects on Friday. I don't think this is right. He should attend. It's his job as leader of our country. Vice President Joe Biden will attend the service. But, it's just not the same. It seems very disrespectful to me.

I've been to funerals of people that I had never met or didn't know well. It's the right thing to do. I hope it's not some political reason. And, I hope no pictures surface of him doing something less than official while he's visiting Cuba instead of being at the funeral. That's just my opinion.

Set a good example, in spite of what others who have been in your position may have done.
