This morning's One Line Monday question turned into a hot topic.  The Flakes want to know, what local road do you think has the wrong posted speed limit?  Here's a few of the suggestions we heard:

One gal called in to say that the speed limit on Airport Road should be increased to 55 or 60.  Amen to that.  Of course, the speed limit used to be 60, until the Rehberg subdivision took care of that.

We also heard from a truck driver who think the speed limit on Highway 87 North headed out of Billings should be increased.  We couldn't agree more.  If the speed limit was 65, you wouldn't see nearly as many people passing over double yellow lines (which happens all the time).

Another gentlemen called in to suggest that we should take a page from Wyoming's book and raise the speed limit on I-90 to 80 miles per hour.  When we asked him if the speed limit should be that high in the city of Billings, the guy said, "that's why we have two lanes". Fair enough.

We also had several people call in to complain about the speed limit of Highway 312.  It makes no sense that the speed limit is 50 on the four lane section, then it raises to 60 for the two lane road.

And here in town, we heard a few folks talk about Main Street in the Heights.  Since everyone drives 65 anyway, couldn't we just split the difference between that the 45 mile per hour posted speed limit?

Interestingly, we didn't have anyone call in to say the speed limit should be lowered in certain places.

Now it's your turn.  Did we leave anything off the list?  What local roads do you think need a speed limit change?  Drop us a line and let us know, flakes103@yahoo.com.
