Overlooked For The CMA Awards?

So the 45th Annual CMA Award nominees were announced this morning. There was no surprise on some of the names that were announced. However, I think there is a big oversight of one name. That name is Billy Currington!
From a Radio Programming point of view (and this is strictly my point of view), I think he was totally overlooked. He has had a great year musically and opened on the biggest tour of the entire year and perhaps the entire decade, Kenny Chesney’s Goin’ Coastal Tour.
I think one would expect to see the likes of Bard Paisley, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. There are, however, a few names that baffle me, like Sara Evans. Yes, she has come back with new music, but is it really female vocalist of the year worthy? And who the heck are “The Civil Wars”? and did I miss something on how they are nominated for Vocal Duo of the year.
Maybe it’s just not Billy’s year. However, he is Male Vocalist of the year in my world.
