Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting a professional bull rider named Cooter Hill.  Cooter grew up near Butte and, when he's not competing in rodeos across the country, he now makes his home here in Billings.

Cooter and I were talking about the notoriously rowdy street parties that take place in Butte on the weekend before St. Patrick's Day.  His story should serve as a cautionary tale for all of us.

Years ago, Cooter and his mom were driving down the road when he became ill.  They pulled over on the side of the road so Cooter could vomit in the bushes.  As luck would have it, a police officer drove by and tried to help Cooter out.  Sadly, Cooter ended up puking on the cop.  Amazingly, that might not be the strangest part of the story.

After Cooter threw up on the policeman, the officer put him in handcuffs and told him that he was under arrest.  At this point, Cooter's mom became angry and began to yell at the police officer.  The cop then arrested Cooter's mom and hauled them both off to jail together.

It's one thing to puke on a cop.  It's another thing to get thrown in jail with your mom.  Let this be a lesson to you, if you're planning to make a road trip to Butte this weekend, be careful.
