Here's some good news and some bad news.  If you own a home in Yellowstone County, it's worth more than it was six years ago.  Of course, if you're not selling your home, that just means your property taxes are going up.

According to a recent report, property values in Yellowstone County have increased nearly 20 percent from 2008.  Some parts of Montana have seen enormous growth, especially out in Richland Country where the oil boom has caused property values to rise over 200%.

Mark and Paul still don't understand why your home is the only product that actually increases in value the longer you own it.  If you lived in your car for 6 years, it's value wouldn't go up.  And they're building new homes all over time, that are still worth the same as older homes.
