In court papers filed this week in Tennessee, Elizabeth Travis, ex-wife and ex-manager of country superstar Randy Travis, denies all accusations made by her former husband and seeks monetary damages based on lost earnings. The papers were filed in response to the countersuit made by the ‘I Told You So’ singer last month.

The ‘he-said, she-said’ legal feud first began earlier this year after Travis’ former manager sued her ex-husband, claiming it was his own “intentional interfering” that was ”undermining the effectiveness of his career in the entertainment industry.”

Travis released an official statement as a response to the suit, saying (via his publicist), “It is unfortunate that it’s come to this. We believe the lawsuit lacks merit and that we have legal defenses to her claims.” The singer filed his own lawsuit last month, alleging that his former flame breached her management contract and ruined his career by blabbing personal details about him.

The very public battle isn’t Travis’ first encounter with the law this year. In February, Travis was arrested for public intoxication by police in Sanger, Texas. He was found sitting alone in his car after an argument with his girlfriend following the Super Bowl.

Elizabeth and Randy Travis were married in 1991, but their relationship goes back over 30 years to before his professional singing days. They officially divorced in 2010. The most recent papers find Travis’ ex-wife seeking to end the lawsuit, according to TMZ. No judgment has been made in favor of either party.
