Sage Tower Apartment Fire Displaced Elderly Residents
One resident of Sage Tower Retirement Homes was injured during a fire called into Billings Fire Dispatch shortly after 11 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22nd.The fire was knocked down quickly after causing damage to one of the units. It is estimated the damaged caused between $50,000 and $100,000 in losses.
The blaze destroyed one unit and damaged the second floor as well as basement water damage. There was a fire sprinkler system operating until the fire department arrived on scene Tuesday night.
There is no word yet on the condition of the occupant taken by ambulance to the hospital Tuesday night. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross, Billings Chapter has responded to the residents of Sage Tower to help out with displacement of any residents, food, clothing and replacement medications.
