Where has the summer gone? To me, it seems like yesterday I was still shoveling snow like a gopher trying to get out of his hole.

Like it or not, the new school season is quickly approaching. I feel that pain, too. Education is a very important venture for our children. I have two children who will be in elementary school this year and they couldn't be more excited about it.

I, too, am excited for them. However, the reality of school costs hits home for me as much as it does for many of you. You throw in our recent moving costs and finances become especially thin.

From clothes to school supplies to pictures to field trips and so on, it seems sometimes this proud papa can never get his head above water.

What's a responsible parent to do? Huntington Bank says the annual costs can be $649 for elementary kids, $941 for middle school and $1,402 for high school. You might remember our report from a week ago.

I don't want to complain here because I would do anything for my children, but things seem so expensive anymore.

What are your thoughts?
