School Shooting; Two Dead
Shots rang out at a Sparks, Nevada Middle School this morning, October 21st.Sparks is about 10 minutes from Reno, Nevada in Washoe County. Police Chief, Mike Mieras said a staff member was killed and went on to say,
the student/suspect in the case was also killed.
Authorities are still not sure if the suspect was killed due to a self inflicted wound or a shot from law enforcement. Two other students were injured. The shooting comes 10 months after the tragic school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut. That school is in the process of being totally torn down before the first anniversary of the shooting back on December 10th 2012.
It was just last month that Billings School District had two non-gun related lock downs. One at Lewis and Clark Middle School on September 10th.
Superintendent of Billings School District Two Terry Bouck said the cause for Tuesday morning’s lock down at Lewis and Clark Middle School was a student who made violent threats-KTVQ
Another lock down happened on September 17th at Burlington Elementary.
According to Superintendent Terry Bouck, Billings Police were attempting to arrest a man within the area and as a precautionary measure, students were sent inside from recess and the school was locked down-KTVQ
