Governor Steve Bullock was in Billings on Wednesday promoting a new program that was tucked into the current-year budget, The Native American collateral support program.

He said, "It's unacceptable that an entrepreneur from Lame Deer can't realize his dream because he struggles to find access to capital."

"To me, loans should only be based on your financial standing and ability to pay it back. In other words, do you qualify? Any bank will loan you the money if you meet those standards.

Federal law already protects citizens from any type of discrimination. Without financial scrutiny, we would run into the same trouble we had with the housing bust a few years ago.
