My wife and I were having a discussion after watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. If you recall in the movie, a big part of Clark's problem is that he hadn't received his Christmas bonus which he counted as part of his annual salary.

I have worked a number of jobs since becoming of age to work and I don't recall ever receiving a Christmas bonus. It would be nice but I have no complaint about it. I just think it's a nice way to say thank you for all the hard work you've put in for the company over the year.

Now I do understand that there are plenty of small companies that barley get by as is without adding the extra fee of a bonus. I get that and understand how hard things can be.

I honestly don't know how I would react if I got a Christmas bonus.

We implemented the minimum wage a long time ago which I think is necessary. What about Christmas bonuses? Do you think they should be required or let it be left alone? I will stick up for the working person and say that there are plenty of workers right here in Billings that could use a little extra help this year.
