Growing up in a small school has it's blessings even though most of the time we don't notice them. Going to a small school can be just as challenging yet rewarding. I grew up in a very small town and know this all too well.

The school is so small we usually start out in Kindergarten and then end up graduating with very familiar faces. They end up being friends for years and years to come.

  • Dating was interesting, if it happened at all

In my school nearly everyone was related to each other so we had to outsource a lot to even go to prom.

We had a parade, the big football game and generations from years past came back home to play. The dance was fun too. Just our day of celebration.

  • You can't hide anything from your parents

If you do it, they are going to find out about it and there is no way to get around that.

  • Missing class to go hunting or fishing is common and acceptable

In fact, they gave us time in our school to go help provide for the family.
