Earlier this week, Pittsburgh Steeler running back Rashard Mendenhall became very vocal about how American's celebrated the death of Osama Big Laden.  Mendenhall said on his Twitter account,

"What kind of person celebrates death? It's amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We've only heard one side..."

Champion Sportswear, who had an endorsement contract with the Steeler player, took issue with his comments.  The company fired him today saying,

"While we respect Mr. Mendenhall's right to express sincere thoughts regarding potentially controversial topics, we no longer believe that Mr. Mendenhall can appropriately represent Champion

The player had just signed an extension of his agreement to endorse the product Sunday. Champion and Mendenhall had worked as partners since he came into the NFL in 2008.

Cat listener Tracey may have said it best,
