'Elementary' and 'Person of Interest': CBS Developing Spinoffs?

The next few weeks will prove plenty busy as broadcast networks announce their new and returning programs, CBS in particular offering a tense competition for the relatively few slots available. Amid all the programming scramble, we've heard that the eye network is looking to develop spinoffs from its popular series 'Elementary' and 'Person of Interest,' but where might we find the new series?

While we wait for the return of the BBC's modern-day 'Sherlock,' CBS' 'Elementary' has continued crafting its own unique modern-day take on the iconic literary detective, one that has teased us all season long of Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller's) past love affair with Irene Adler. Now, as CBS' 'Elementary' moves toward its first season finale, breakout 'Game of Thrones' star Natalie Dormer has officially signed on for a major role as Adler, but will her story carry into the present?

Online Courses for Elementary and High School Students?

In an effort to accommodate students with varying levels of advancement and in reaction to state budgetary cuts, at least 30 states in the US now let elementary and high school students take all their courses online.

According to Evergreen Education Group, a consulting firm that works with online schools, an estimated 250,000 students nationwide are enrolled in full-time virtual schools, a 40 percent increase in the last three years. And the International Association for K-12 Online Learning, a trade group, says two million kids take at least one class online.
