So when the 35-year-old mother of two recently moved to Raleigh, NC, she immediately started missing the parade of embraces she used to get in her smaller hometown.

Melinda decided to do something about this, and since she couldn’t import her friends and family to Raleigh, she started hugging strangers instead.
