Ever since teenage country star Scotty McCreery won Season 10 of ‘American Idol,’ he hasn’t stopped giving props to the popular show that gave him his big start in country music. On Tuesday, McCreery even stopped by to lend some encouraging words as future ‘Idol’ hopefuls gathered in Charlotte, N.C. to try out for the show’s next season.

The ‘American Idol’ finale is almost as hot of a red carpet party as any major award show. Stars from all over the world of music and movies turned up to get a glimpse of this year’s winner being crowned ‘American Idol’ champion. The honor went to Phillip Phillips this year, but a familiar face to country fans was on stage to do the honors.
