Taylor Swift may have been born and raised in Pennsylvania, but the singer is pretty much a Nashville transplant who has adopted Music City as her hometown. Living in the area means she can cross paths with modern country music legends with frequency. Which ones are her ultimate idols? The answer shouldn't surprise you.

In a chat with Nashville Lifestyles, Swift paid homage to Faith Hill and Kenny Chesney as the people she looks up to the most. Both Hill and Chesney have shown her immeasurable support and have had her back as she has dealt with a rapid ascent in the genre and beyond.

"I think my favorite person in Nashville is Faith Hill," the 'Begin Again' singer declared. "She's been my idol since I saw her on both VH1 and CMT when I was about 10."

One of the reasons that Swift admires Hill so much is because they share a similar career trajectory. "I loved how she was taking country music to bigger audiences, and her grace in the spotlight," Swift said.

Hill has exerted a supportive influence on Swift, with the singer revealing, "Since I put out my first album, Faith has been a welcoming and warm presence in my life, time after time. She sends flowers on my birthday and sent me cookies when I got sick."

How sweet of Hill, right?

Chesney may not send flowers and sweet treats, but he does send notes and makes himself available. "He's so supportive, and always makes sure I know he's in my corner," Swift shared. "He sends little notes of encouragement, and I know I can ask him for advice any time."

Wow, it must be comforting to know you have Kenny Chesney on speed dial when you need an ear.

Swift also said that the singers earned her respect for their musical accomplishments before she knew them. But they kept it because of who they showed themselves to be when she encountered them personally.

"These are two people who had always been my heroes for their career accomplishments, and when I met them, they became my heroes for their characters," she finished.
