Taylor Swift‘s upcoming performance on the 2013 CMA Awards with an all-star band consisting of Alison KraussVince Gill, Sam Bush, Edgar Meyer and Eric Darken won’t just be cool for fans. According to the singer, it will be “life-alteringly cool” for her, too.

She tells Clay Moden of WYRK that her decision to form this star-studded band for the big awards show was based primarily on her aptitude to never do the same thing twice. Swift already debuted ‘Red’ at the 2013 CMT Music Awards with an energetic performance and a thigh-high slit, so she wanted to change things up.

“I really wanted to present ‘Red’ in a different way, ’cause the song is completely one thing if you hear it produced on the radio, and then it’s a completely different song if you hear it the way that we’re doing it,” Swift says during a CMA Week interview.

“I knew that in order to showcase a different, more emotional part of the song, I wanted to bring in artists who completely bring their own flare to everything … Vince Gill and Alison Krauss, they’re two of my biggest heroes,” the superstar gushes. “The music that they’ve made has influenced me so much, so to be sharing a stage with them is going to be — I’m sure — life-alteringly cool.”

While it will certainly be cool for Swift to perform with these amazing artists, it will also be fun for fans to see something a little different from the ‘Everything Has Changed’ singer. Swifties will get at least a double does of the star at the 2013 CMAs, as she’ll perform ‘Red’ and receive the highly-touted Pinnacle Award at the event.

Swift is also nominated for six CMA awards, including the prestigious Entertainer of the Year trophy, so we expect to see a lot of her on Wednesday (Nov. 6). Country music’s biggest party airs on ABC at 8PM ET.
