I can't help thinking back on the Thanksgiving gatherings from my younger years.

Looking back at pictures of all of the uncles on my mom's side of the family gathered in my grandparents living room. EVERY adult smoking something!

But, as I got older, I was eventually invited into the card games our family played. I was a pretty good Gin player, and a very unlucky Continental Rummy player.

Grandma always made a roasted chicken on Thanksgiving because it never made any sense to her to have two turkeys, one month apart. She also always made orange jello with pineapple and shredded carrots just for me.

And my poor grandpa, Les, who was the chief camera operator of the 8mm film camera, so we have very few shots of him.

Looking forward to gatherings of family and friends. I hope your day is memorable as well.
