There aren't a lot of art deco type buildings in Billings which is what makes the historic Montana Power Co. building so unique. It was built in 1915 at a time of economic prosperity during Montana's homestead era. The building was designed by Montana's preeminent architect at the time, John G. Link and was one of the first generation buildings of grand architecture to create a new city streetscape on Broadway avenue.

Today the building is the site of the Montana Brewing Company which moved into the building in December of 1994 and really kickstarted Downtown Billings gentrification process. Today there are nearly 500 residences in Downtown Billings which is more than double what there were in 1994 and we have the Montana Power Co. building to thank for it. As they say in a well known Jim Bean ad, "We Always Return To The Classics".
