Throw Back Thursday … Hanging With Garth Brooks

About a week ago I told you about a new and up and coming country artist I got to meet by the name of Brandon Holland.  I mentioned that many years ago I got to meet a young guy from Oklahoma, by the name of Garth Brooks just as he was getting started in the music business.

This Throw Back Thursday photo is actually from 1991, when I accidentally caught Garth backstage just before he went on to perform.

I had just left the room after a meet and greet with The Pirates of the Mississippi, and as I headed down the hall and as I rounded the corner, there he was, Garth Brooks.

To tell the complete story, I caught him as he was tucking in his shirt, yep, talk about timing.

There he stood with his pants open and his shirt about half tucked in.

I of course was gracious and smiled and then asked, "when your done there, would you take a picture with me"?

What's a girl to do?  Seize the moment right.

The autograph on this photo came a few years later, 1998 when he was here and sold out four shows at Metra Park, by the way that was the last time he was here.

Let's hold our breath and hope that on his three year world wide "Man Against Machine" tour he will grace us with his presence.
