Thursday is Farmers Day

Most of the people in the U.S. don’t really know what Thanksgiving Day is all about.  The holiday is to give thanks for the previous harvest and to thank God for his blessings.  George Washington knew of the importance of the farm to the country and thought it necessary to celebrate it and be thankful to the one who gave it to us.

Wow, how things have changed.  It’s more of a commercial celebration of the shopping season now than one of a gratuitous occasion.  Well, I’m thankful for the many fruitful harvests that I have had and the family that helped me realize them.  Hope yours is just as rewarding.
