Toby Griego Serial Rape Trial Update-4/11/14
A week of testimony in the Toby Griego serial rape and assault trial is over! All that is left are the closing arguments for the prosecution and defense.
The closing arguments will take place on Monday, April 14th at 9 a.m. The Yellowstone County Attorney prosecution team of Rod Souza and Juli Pierce will have 70 minutes for their closing arguments as will Public Defender, David Duke.
April 11th testimony came mainly from detectives from Billings who described evidence leading to the August 22nd, 2013 arrest of Toby Griego, who has been charged with 26 felonies for rape, assault, assault with a weapon, kidnapping and other serious crimes.
Friday, the detectives showed, with the use of graphic audio and video, evidence that was recovered from Griego’s car and house on South 30th street in Billings. The main submission of evidence against Griego is that his face is visible on videos captured from his own cell phone.
The state rested its case just before 3 p.m. today. The defense had no witnesses and rested immediately after, with Griego choosing not to testify.
