Travel Tips for the Holiday Weekend

If you're headed out of town this weekend, be prepared to pay extra at the pump.  Gas prices are expected to top $3.40 a gallon here in Montana.  And we're lucky.  The nationwide average is creeping up on four bucks, the highest it's been in a few years.

Here's some other travel tips.  Beartooth Pass officially opened this morning at 9 am.  Expect some extra holiday traffic if you're headed towards Yellowstone.

And if you're taking your boat out, make sure the boat ramps are open where you're headed.  Many of the local reservoirs have lowered their water levels in order to prepare for the snow melt.  A lot of boat ramps will be closed, especially on the Big Horn and at Canyon Ferry.
