Valentine’s Day is Discriminatory

In this day and age, you hear a lot about fairness, gender equity and equal opportunity.  So why is that Moms get better stuff on Mother's Day than Dads do on Father's Day?  And then there's Valentine's Day.  A contrived holiday where men are required to buy presents for the women in their life.

Sure, some guys might get a card.  But you don't see Valentine's Day commercials targeted at women.  It's the guy who has to spring for flowers, chocolates and the BMW with the bright red bow.  It's unfair.

In the interest of impartiality, the Flakes believe that a new holiday should be invented so women can present gifts to their favorite guys.  It's a even trade.  We'll give you February 14th.  In exchange, we'll be expecting a juicy steak, a six pack and romantic night out at the Monster Truck Rally.

By the way, if you asked 100 men, they would all be in favor of evening the holiday playing field.  Unless, of course, their wives were around, in which case they wouldn't say a thing.
