Veteran's Day is Monday, November 12, 2012. It's an opportunity to honor the Veterans of our Armed Services. We decided to compile a list of activities that are scheduled to honor this holiday. We have compiled  several events, but we are looking to expand our list. If you know of an event that's not listed, please use the form provided at the bottom of the post to share your event with us. Once we receive the information we will update our original post.

Here are the events we have so far:

Veterans' Appreciation Assembly

All veterans, their families and the public are invited to a veterans' appreciation assembly at 9 a.m. Friday November 9th, 2012 at Will James Middle School.

To begin the program, there is a color guard from the USMC and a captain in the Marines who will give a short talk. Military veterans will be honored by decade starting with the 1940s until today.

For more information, call Hunter Jones at the school at 406-281-6100.

Creation of medicine wheel

Montana State University invites all Students, Faculty, and members of the Billings to community to join them on November 13th, 2012 from 11:30 to 12:30 in creating a Medicine Wheel. A color guard will be present, live music, and refreshments will be served. Refreshments will be served too. A brief presentation will be conducted on what the Veteran's Medicine Wheel represents. The audience will assist in the creation of the Medicine Wheel by writing the name of a Veteran who has served, is currently serving, or has passed away on each of the stones that are placed inside the circle.

Spaghetti Dinner

A spaghetti dinner will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at American Legion, 1540 Broadwater Ave. Music will be provided by Norrine the Outlaw Queen Band. The cost is $6. All proceeds raised during the event will go to supporting the Honor Flight Program. Call 656-9510 for information.
