What Do You Suppose Happened On This Downtown Billings Parkade Elevator?

As I was headed to get my car out of this parkade to go to the gym this morning I saw these mud stains and this clump of hair inside the parkade elevator. What do you think happened here? I've posted a few pictures to help you piece together the clues. My guess is at the bottom.

It looks to me like there was some kind of struggle based on the mud smears, clump of hair on the floor and the obvious attempt by someone with a muddy hand to try to pry open the elevator door. Hopefully no one was seriously hurt.
