Can the Wachowskis redeem themselves for the muddled âMatrixâ sequels with their ambitious, star-studded new effort, âCloud Atlas?â All signs seem to point to ⦠maybe. Critics are mostly split on âCloud Atlas,â the Wachowskisâ three hour-long genre-hopping collaboration with âRun Lola Runâ director Tom Tykwer. Many are praising the filmâs massive scope, bravery and imagery while others say the picture starts with promise but is too unfocused and shallow deliver a real emotional impact. ScreenCrushâs Matt Singer liked it, but he suggests itâll take more than one viewing to absorb all of the filmâs finer points.
