Willie Nelson is celebrating 80, and it doesn't seem like he's slowing down one bit. Shotgun Willie took some time to create a hilarious audition video for Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit 2,' stating that he really wants to play the role of "the wizard Ganda."

For starters, fans of 'The Hobbit' know that the wizard's name is Gandalf, and in the first of three 'Hobbit' movies, he was played by Sir Ian McKellen. But Nelson has it in his mind that he should take over the role of the famous wizard in the sequel of 'The Hobbit.' Sporting a cape, a large wizard hat, and a huge... um... cigarette, the country legend makes his case in front of a camera.

“Hey, Peter Jackson. My name’s Willie Nelson, and I want to audition for the role of Ganda and the wizard in that upcoming movie you’ve got coming up called ‘The Hobbit,’” he says.

In following segments of the audition video, Nelson uses a staff to show off his acting skills, saying things like, "Hey, look at that dragon!" and singing 'Mama, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Orcs.'

After a minute of shenanigans that only Willie himself could get away with, the singer closes the video by saying, "So, that's it, Peter. You can hire me and fire that Ian McKellen guy. He's a good actor, but, hell, I'm Willie Nelson!"

Something tells us that Nelson won't land the role of Gandalf the Great, but he definitely knows how to draw some laughs.
