20 Percent raise? No Way

The Billings city council will consider giving city administrator Tina Volek a $24,500 raise tonight.  Why?  Is the city making a surplus now?  No.

Is it right that the firemen only get a 3.2 percent raise and she gets a 20% raise?  No.  Why we would reward someone who has not given us a budget surplus is beyond me.  Her raise should be in line with all other city employees.  Lead by example, if you want to earn the trust and respect of the tax-payers in this town, then show some fiscal responsibility.
