Do You Give Gift Cards?

So, I've seen the results of gift cards on both sides of the fence.

Sometimes the person receiving the gift card is ecstatic thinking of all the things they can purchase with it, especially with the after-Christmas sales.

Other times they are disappointed  that they didn't receive an actual present that required thought.

Either way, I believe it's the thought that counts.

But there's another thought. The thought that buying gift cards as presents is being a little lazy and not really thinking of the receiver. I actually don't agree with that statement.

I find it very difficult to pick out Christmas presents. No matter what, it seems like I get something wrong. The gift card is my way of getting it right the first time. Disappointment at a minimal I say.
