This Sweet Old Boy is Billings’ Featured Adoptable Pet
We're dog lovers here at Townsquare Media, and when Wet Nose Wednesday rolls around each week, we find ourselves wanting to adopt ALL of the dogs at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter. Some of them pull on our heartstrings more than others, and our featured pet this week is a prime example.
Meet Barnabas Wiggleton.
This seven-year-old Saint Bernard mix is a sweet old boy who arrived at the shelter as a stray. He's now been on the adoption floor for about two weeks, said Lindsay Dillon, Kennel Attendant at YVAS.
Bald is beautiful.
Barnabas is a very calm, gentle, and loving dog. He does have an allergy-related skin condition that has caused him to lose a large amount of fur on his back and tail. The condition is not contagious to other pets or humans, and we're told it should clear up with consistent medication.
Currently, Barnabas is wearing a jacket over his bald patch on his back. He's lost hair on this tail too. Baldness aside, he's a very handsome dog and when his hair grows back he'll be a great-looking pooch.
His favorite treat is one of ours too.
According to the shelter, Barnabas loves playing with other dogs and it seems he would do well with children too. And he LOVES cheese. Who doesn't, right?
The shelter is running a "We're Too Full" special on animal adoption.
Now through July 7th, you'll save big on any adoption at Yellowstone Animal Shelter with a name-your-price fee for all adult dogs or cats. You'll also save on microchipping, at just $5, and the shelter is waiving all reclaim fees during this promotion.
