Summer Brewfest 2024 at ZooMontana is for a great cause.

Over 6,000 Montanans are diagnosed with cancer each year in Montana. Almost all of us have felt the impact of having a loved one who receives this heartbreaking news.

Stats shared by the Montana Department of Health and Human Services indicate over 2,000 Montanans died from cancer annually (between 2016 and 2020). And two out of five people will get a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.

The top five most common new cancer cases in Montana are prostate, breast, lung, colorectal, and melanoma.

Financial stress is an issue for many Montana cancer patients.

Experiencing a serious medical condition is stressful in so many ways. Missing work, dealing with fatigue, maintaining mental health, and worrying about finances are common issues.

P.E.A.K.S. helps raise funds for cancer patients in the Billings area.

P.E.A.K.S. is an acronym for People Everywhere Are Kind And Sharing. The organization hosts several flagship events each year, and all funds raised are awarded via grants to cancer patients at St. Vincent (Intermountain Health) and Billings Clinic.

This money can be used for whatever the patient requires; perhaps paying bills while missing work, travel expenses, food, etc. P.E.A.K.S. donates over $50,000 annually to Montana cancer patients in need. In 2023, they helped 195 cancer patients seeking treatment in Billings.

Summer Brewfest 2024 is August 10th from 4 to 8 pm at ZooMontana. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the gate. You can buy tickets HERE. The 21+ event promises a fun evening at ZooMontana, including:

• Cornhole tournament - tickets for the tournament will be available for purchase at the event
• Beer, wine, cider samples and non-alcoholic beverages
• Food truck
• Live and silent auctions

P.E.A.K.S. donated three pairs of tickets to give to our listeners and readers. You must be 21 to enter, one entry per person, please. Winners will be drawn at random from all entries on Thursday morning August 8th, and must be claimed at our studios before 3 PM on Friday, August 9th.
