Jason Aldean Shares What He’s Excited to Teach His First Son
Jason Aldean said he's not opposed to naming his baby boy after a rock legend and shared what he can't wait to do with his first son during an interview prior to the 2017 Taste of Country Festival in Hunter, N.Y.
The "They Don't Know" singer admitted "Allman" probably won't work — the late Gregg Allman was a major influence on his music and career — but he and wife Brittany have kicked around the idea of naming their son after someone else that's left a lasting legacy on their lives.
"It's definitely something we've thought about already," he says. "We just haven't really settled on anything yet."
What's Jason Going To Name His Son? It's Obvious!
The couple's son will be the first boy born on either side of the family in a very long time. In fact, Aldean is the last of the men in his family tree. The same holds true for Brittany's side of the family as well, he tells Taste of Country. It's been nothing but girl after girl since he was born 40 years ago.
The experience of becoming a parent is not new for the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, but having a boy is. He's looking forward to doing guy things. "Hunt, fish, playing baseball in the yard and all that kind of stuff, I'm looking forward to all of it," he says.
How old does the boy need to be to go hunting?
"Whenever he can be quiet for a couple hours," Aldean jokes.
The couple have not shared a due date yet, but the baby is expected in the fall. The announced they were pregnant in early May, and revealed they were having a baby boy via a video on Instagram a few weeks later.
