If you were listening to us this morning you heard about the Governor's big plans to improve schools in a number of ways. The list of ideas at a meeting of the Board of Education includes increasing education funding, a college tuition freeze, and making other improvements during his first legislative session. One of Bullocks’ goals is more attention and focus on pre-kindergarten education because it has been proven to help students do better later in life, so why wouldn’t we? It is a win…win situation. In addition, there is more opportunity for high school students to receive college credit for advanced classes, and improved teacher evaluations.  Both…good things!

Of course the use of technology in the classroom continues to explode and is another area of enormous growth in education. These efforts to improve graduation rates and find better ways of training workers are necessary for industry.

There was no price tag mentioned on these improvements and initiatives from the governor.
