Bucky Covington has traveled a long road to his sophomore album. The 'American Idol' alumnus scored the biggest debut of any country artist of 2007 with his self-titled first album, but found himself unable to follow up on its success after Lyric Street Records closed it doors, leaving him in contractual limbo for several years.
Bucky Covington fans have anxiously been counting down the days until the release of the singer’s sophomore album, ‘Good Guys,’ set to hit stores on Sept. 11. To give them a little something to hold them over, Covington has revealed the album cover artwork, as well as the list of which 12 tracks will complete the new project.
Country outlaw Shooter Jennings and one-time ‘American Idol’ contestant Bucky Covington make an odd marriage, but on ‘Drinking Side of Country,’ their voices and styles compliment each other like bar stool buddies telling the same story. They may be too similar, in fact, as it’s difficult to tell who’s who during parts of the rowdy rolling cut from Covington’s upcoming album.
The lyrics to ‘I Wanna Be That Feeling,’ Bucky Covington‘s new single on the rise, were penned by two of Nashville’s most successful tunesmiths, Ben Hayslip and Jimmy Yeary. “This is one of those songs that laid around for a long time,” Hayslip admits to Taste of Country of the single.
