The mask restrictions at MSU-Billings and other campuses in the Montana University System are coming off.

We caught up with Henry Kriegel from Americans for Prosperity-Montana recently to get his take on the significance of several bills now signed into law by Governor Greg Gianforte (R-MT).

A year ago we spoke with a great, inspirational lady by the name of Doris Ehli. She had already survived COVID-19, and was quarantined inside of the Marias Heritage Center, which had been the hardest hit in the state from the virus at the time. Doris passed away this past weekend, surrounded by family.

He travelled all over the state, and met with countless Montanans. He did that for the entirety of the pandemic without testing positive for COVID-19. Then last week, he gets the COVID-19 vaccine, and boom- he tests positive for COVID-19. And the liberals went on the attack.

We had teams there from Billings, Bozeman, Deer Lodge, Anaconda, Butte, and the Flathead. Thanks to the great folks in Butte for letting the kids play, and for letting the families watch.

Across the board our callers want Montana's governor and the Montana legislature to enact similar measures moving forward in Florida, where Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is working to block enforcement of any COVID passport requirements in the sunshine state.

Think about, if you were a kid in Texas, you still got to go to school. You largely didn't have to wear masks. And you still got to play "Friday Night Lights" football. Just minutes away, right across the border- you got none of that. No school. No football. And you better wear a mask everywhere.

Despite the lifting of restrictions, case numbers continue to decline in Montana and the region. In fact, the New York Times is profiling Montana and the Dakotas for the declining numbers.

Well, we're about a month in to the legislative session. So I figured it might be a good time to throw out a question. Have we seen a massive spike in COVID-19 case numbers in Lewis & Clark County, the home county of our state's capitol in Helena?

Many Montana businesses are still struggling from the financial impacts of the COVID-19 shutdowns from last Spring, and many are still suffering under restrictions that remain in place. Now that another COVID-19 relief package was signed into law by President Trump, another round of Paycheck Protection Program funds are now available.
