Coach Tinkle isn't the only coach playing in the Elite 8 with Montana ties. Kelvin Sampson, the head coach of the Houston Cougars, used to coach at Montana Tech in Butte. And the two Montana-connected coaches will now face each other Monday night.
If I'm reading this story right, the Montana State Bobcats and the University of Montana Grizzlies will not be playing a football season this Spring. The Cats and the Griz will not be eligible for a Big Sky Conference Championship, nor will they be eligible to play in an FSC football championship game. But, why can't we do a Cat-Griz game? Let's do it in Butte. On St. Patrick's Day.
I could care less about the Big 10, the PAC this, or the PAC that. I care about the Big Sky. And our kids should be able to play. Let's make a Cat-Griz game happen this November.

Sooner or later, all broadcasters get fired. At least that's the way it seems. And over at Missoula, Mick Holien's time has come. His contract for next year wasn't renewed. As broadcasters, we just accept that this is how it is for us. I doubt that Mick was ready to hang it up yet, but it wasn't his choice...
