The Weinstein Co. failed miserably with their last adaptation of a young-adult book franchise, 'Vampire Academy,' but perhaps they can turn it around with a beloved classic. A few weeks ago, the first trailer for 'R.I.P.D.' exploded on the 'net, prompting many to accuse the film of looking like a 'Men in Black' ripoff for substituting aliens with evil spirits. Now a new poster for the Jeff Bridges-Ryan Reynolds horror adventure has appeared, and... well, we're still thinking it looks a lot like 'Men in Black.'
This 'R.I.P.D.' trailer certainly seems to indicate that the supernatural buddy cop film is a lot like 'Men in Black' with a cranky Jeff Bridges standing in for a cranky Tommy Lee Jones and a wise-ass Ryan Reynolds filling in for a wise-ass Will Smith.
