How many lockdowns have we had at West High over the last year because of a vaping threat?

Our top security measure is luck, and so far, it's working.

Currently, there are few deterrents or protocols in place to protect the kids. We started a metal detector program for schools and agencies many years ago and have probably sent out 30 or so detectors to schools and other places. Here's is my plea to you, please use them

Someone apparently called in the threat, although, we don't know what the threat was. Shooting? Fire? bomb? You usually don't find those things out. I get it, no reason to cause panic for no reason. However, as a parent, every threat is a reason to panic knowing what has occurred in recent years.

Pioneer Elementary School (1937 Dover Road) got a visit from Mark and Paul on Monday (11/25) when they dropped off a new tool for school safety.

We are so happy to provide the staff and kids a metal detector to work along with their already implemented security.

After two separate lock-downs in School District 2 this week it's time for new security measures.

Last week, Mark and Paul went in different directions for metal detector delivery. Ryegate would get a visit from Mr. Mushaben, while Custer welcomed Mr. Wilson.
